How to create and connect a Twitter app
To add Twitter login on your Socital onsite campaigns, you need to create and connect a Twitter app to your account.
1. Create & Configure Twitter app
- Go to Twitter developers portal.
- Click on "Create App".
Note: you may be asked to fill in some information regarding your business and your user of Twitter login before you can create Twitter Apps.
- Enter a name for your app (can be your company's/website's name).
- Make sure to copy your API Key and API secret key to enter them in the Socital app further below.
- Twitter won't show these again, if you don't copy them at this stage you will have to regenerate them.
- Click on "App Settings".
- Enter your App icon.
- In Authentication settings click "Edit".
- Enable 3-legged OAuth
- In Callback URLs enter
https://plugin.socital.com/api/v1/auth/callback
- Enter your Website URL and click "Save".
- In the main page of your Twitter App, go to "Keys and tokens".
- In Access Token and Secret, click on "Generate".
- Make sure to copy your Access Token and Access Token Secret
- Twitter won't show these again, if you don't copy them at this stage you will have to regenerate them.
2. Connect Twitter app to your Socital account
- Go to your Socital Dashboard and open Account settings.
- Go to Connect Social Apps from the left-hand menu
- Click on Twitter.
- Enter the following info:
- Your Application Name: Any internal name for your Twitter App (this won't be visible to your users).
- Your Application Key: your Twitter App API Key (copied at the first stage of creating your Twitter App)
- Your Application Secret: your Twitter App API secret Key (copied at the first stage of creating your Twitter App)
- Twitter Access Token: your Twitter App Access Token (copied at the last stage of configuring your Twitter App)
- Twitter Access Secret: your Twitter App Access Token Secret (copied at the first stage of creating your Twitter App)
- Click on "Connect".
- Your Twitter app was successfully connected to your Socital account.
