How to set up a campaign to be shown to new visitors only
You can target a specific audience of your website with onsite campaigns, such as new visitors.
That way you can set up welcome campaigns for new visitors to increase conversion at the first visit.
How it works
When you install Socital on your website, Socital places a cookie on the browser of every first-time visitor,
to detect if they have been on your website before.
Note that after you install the Socital code, every visitor will be detected as a new visitor on their first visit.
- New visitor: someone who has visited your site for the first time in the past 1 hour.
- Returning visitor: someone who has visited your site more than 1 hour ago.
How to set it up
Find your campaign on the list at the View all Plugins page and open the campaign editor to add the targeting rule.
Click the "Edit" icon to open the campaign editor.
From the left-hand menu, go to Targeting.
Click on the dropdown menu to see the list with the targeting rules.
Select "Show to new visitors only" from the list.
Click on the "+" button to add the targeting rule.
The targeting rule has been added to your campaign.
If you want to remove the targeting rule, you can simply click on the "x" button.
Don't forget to save your campaign.
