Supported Magento Versions

Currently Socital’s Extension supports the following Magento versions: 1.9, 1.9.1, 1.9.2 and 1.9.3.

Is your Magento store version not supported by the Socital Extension yet?

You can still install Socital Plugins and Import your Ecommerce Data into Socital without installing the Extension.

Quick Guide

1. Register for an account at my.socital.com.
2. Download the Socital Magento extension from Magento Marketplace.
3. Install the extension using Magento Connect or command line.
4. Flush your Magento cache.
5. Connect your Socital Account.
6. Configure Socital Engagement tools and activate them on you Magento site with one click!

Installation Guide

1. Register for an account at my.socital.com

• Visit our App through my.socital.com.
• Enter your contact details, agree to our Terms of Service and Register for an Account.
• One of our Customer Success Agents will soon activate your account.

2. Download Socital Extension from Magento Marketplace.

• Go to the Socital Extension page in Magento Marketplace.
• Click on “Add to Cart” and proceed to checkout.
• Go to your Magento Marketplace Account and navigate to “My Purchases”.
• Locate the Socital Extension and click on Download to save the compressed Socital Extension file on your computer.

3. Install the Extension on your Magento site.

• Log-into your Magento Admin and open the Connect Manager from the “System” menu under “Magento Connect”.
• Under “Direct Package file upload” click on “Choose file” and select the extension package you downloaded previously.
• Click on Upload and Install, which will run the extension package in your Magento set up.
• Once package has been installed successfully, return to Admin and flush your Magento cache.

4. Get Username and API Key

• In your Magento Admin, navigate to “Configuration” under the System menu.
• Find the “Socital” Panel from the left-hand menu.
• In the Account Info section, you can find the Socital Extension Username and your unique API Key. Copy both to use them in the next step.

5. Connect your Socital account.

The following steps will activate the data exchange between Socital and your Magento store. Once your account is connected, any Socital Plugin that you activate from the Socital Dashboard will automatically appear on your Magento store.

• Login to my.socital.com using your credentials.

Note: To activate the extension and use the full suite of the Socital Services you need a Socital account.

To register a new account, go to my.socital.com.

• Navigate to Account Settings from the top right Corner.

•  Go to Integrations from the left-hand menu.

• Click on the “Connect a Magento Account” button.

• Complete the fields in the popup that opens:

Your Application name: for Internal use. Select a name to recognize the Magento app.

Username: Paste the Username you copied from your Magento Admin on the previous step.

API Key: Paste the API Key you copied from your Magento Admin on the previous step.

Host: Add your Magento site domain (eg. https://mymagentostore.com)

• Click “Connect” and you should see the Magento App added in your list of Integrations.

6. Socital ID and Socital Fields in Magento Admin

• Return to your Magento Admin, in the “Socital” configuration panel.
• In the “Engagement Tools” section, the “Socital ID” has been automatically added when you completed the previous step.

Note: refresh the page, if it has stayed open from the previous step.

• Choose the Socital fields that will be shown in your Magento Customers backend view and click on “Save Config”.

Done!

You have successfully set up your Socital Extension on your Magento Store.

Socital fields are added in your Magento Customer Records and syncing of data between Socital and Magento is enabled by default.
